# Automated tagging Use automated tagging to automatically apply tags to customers when specific events occur. For example, to automatically tag customers who have activated a new subscription, or to untag customers who stop using the new subscription. To manually tag or untag customers, AML checks, or KYC documents, see [Tags](/docs/settings/tags#manually-tag-or-untag). ## Create a tag automation Use this process to automatically tag or untag a customer. 1. In the left navigation bar, press . 2. In the **Data and alerts** section, press **Automated tagging**. 3. Press **Create tag automation**. 4. In the **Name** field, enter a name for the tag automation. 5. In the **Event** dropdown, select an event. When this event is triggered, specified tags are added or removed based on the conditions you define. For more information, see [Events](/docs/automations/event-types). 6. Optionally, to apply conditions on when to apply to tag automation: Clear the **No conditions** checkbox, define the conditions, and then press **Add filter**. You can add multiple filters. 7. In the **Manage tags** section, select from the following: - To automatically add tags when a specific event occurs: Press the **Add tags** field, and enter tag names. If the tag does not already exist, press **+ Add tag** to create a new tag. - To automatically remove tags when a specific event occurs: Press the **Remove tags** field, and enter tag names. 8. Press **Save**. ## Tag a customer when they spend over a specific amount Use this process to automatically tag a customer when they spend over a specific amount of money in one transaction. 1. In the left navigation bar, press . 2. In the **Data and alerts** section, press **Automated tagging**. 3. Press **Create tag automation**. 4. In the **Name** field, enter a name for the tag automation. 5. In the **Event** dropdown, select **Transaction processed**. This event is triggered when a transaction is processed. 6. Clear the **No conditions** checkbox. 7. In the filter dropdown, select **Transaction > Amount**. 8. In the next dropdown, select **Greater or equal to**. 9. In the **Value** field, enter the amount of money the customer must spend to trigger the event. 10. In the **Add tags** field, enter the name of the tag you want to apply. If the tag does not already exist, press **+ Add tag** to create a new tag. 11. Press **Save**. ## Display payment methods based on specific customer tags Use this process to display specific payment methods if a customer has a specific tag. To display payment methods based on specific customer tags, the customer must already have the tags applied. For more information, see [Create a tag automation](/docs/automations/automated-tagging#create-a-tag-automation) or [Manually tag a customer](/docs/settings/tags#tag-or-untag-customers). 1. In the left navigation bar, press . 2. In the **Rules engine** section, press **Rules engine**. 3. Press **Core events**. 4. Press **Ready to pay requested**. 5. Press **Rule set**. 6. press **Create rule**. 7. In the **Name** field, enter a name for the rule. 8. Clear the **No conditions** checkbox. 9. In the filter dropdown, select **Customer > Tags > Name**. 10. In the next dropdown, select **is in**. 11. In the next dropdown, select the tag you want to use. 12. In the **Actions** section, press **Add action**, and then press **Adjust ready to pay**. 13. Press **Add another payment method**. 14. Select the payment method you want to display for customers with the tag, and press **Add**. 15. Press **Save rule**. ## Manage tag automations Use this process to view, edit, delete, and activate or deactivate a tag automation. 1. In the left navigation bar, press . 2. In the **Data and alerts** section, press **Automated tagging**. All tag automations are displayed. 3. Select from the following: - View a tag automation: On the left of an automation, in the **Name** column, press the ID number. - Edit a tag automation: On the right of an automation, press . - Delete a tag automation: On the right of an automation, press . - Activate or deactivate a tag automation: On the left of an automation, in the **Status** column, turn on or off the toggle.
