Data exports

This topic describes how to export data. Use this topic to export customer, subscription, transaction, invoice, invoice item, or revenue recognition data. Common data export use cases are: accounting, data analysis, reporting, or importing into other databases.

Data export formats

Rebilly provides the following export types for all data: CSV, JSON, XML, JSON-API.
Additionally, invoices can be exported in PDF format.

Export data

Use this process to export your data. When the export is complete, a notification is displayed in the left navigation bar, in Alerts .

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Automations .
  2. In the Data and alerts section, click Data exports.
  3. In the top right of the screen, click Create data export.
  4. In the Name field, enter a name for the export.
    This value is used to name the export file and is displayed in the data exports table.
  5. In the Resources section, select the resource you want to obtain data from.
  6. In the Format section, select an export format.
  7. In the Fields section, define which fields you want to export.
    Drag field items to change the order, or delete unwanted fields.
  8. In the Filters section, select from the following:
    • Apply a date range: In the Date range dropdown, select a range or choose Custom to create your own range.
    • Apply additional data filters: Click Add filters, in the Field dropdown, select a data value, then enter a range or add values to filter.
  9. Optionally, to receive an email notification when your export is ready to download: In the Notifications section, select the Send an email when the export is complete checkbox.
  10. Optionally, to schedule recurring data exports: In the Schedule section, select the Use a recurring export schedule checkbox, and specify the schedule.
  11. Click Export.

View and download data exports

Use this process to view a list of all data exports, and also to download them.

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Automations .
  2. In the Data and alerts section, click Data exports.
  3. On the right of a data export item, click Download .
  4. Optionally, to filter the list of data exports:
    • Filter by status: At the top of the data export table, click All, My exports, or Pending.
    • Add additional filters:
      Note: To add more than one filter to a data table, repeat the following process.
      1. In the top right of the data exports table, click Filters .
      2. In the Filter dropdown, select a value to filter.
      3. In the Operation dropdown, select a condition.
      4. In the Value field, enter or select values.
      5. Click Apply filter.

Cancel or edit a data export

Use this process to cancel or edit a recurring or pending data export.

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Automations .
  2. In the Data and alerts section, then click Data exports.
  3. Select from the following:
    • Cancel a recurring or pending data export: On the right of a data export item, click Delete .
    • Edit a recurring or pending data export: On the right of a data export item, click Edit .
