Use billing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to view and analyze billing data and reports.
To access billing KPIs: In the left navigation bar, press KPIs , then press Billing.
The billing KPIs page is divided into tiles that provide insights into specific areas of billing, based on a specified time range. Each tile displays a graph, percentage increase or decrease over the defined range, and depending on the title type, a sum or a total count number.
Displays the total amount of annual recurring revenue. To analyze recurring revenue, see View Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) reports.
Displays the percentage increase or decrease in annual recurring revenue. To analyze recurring revenue, see View annual recurring revenue reports.
Displays the total number of active subscriptions. To analyze active subscriptions, see View cumulative reports.
Displays the total number of coupons that have been applied. For information on how to create and apply coupons, see Coupons.
Displays the average revenue that is generated per customer. To analyze revenue, see View revenue waterfall reports and View monthly recurring revenue reports.
The following metrics determine average revenue per customer:
- a: Total amount of revenue per year.
- n: Total number of customers.
Revenue per customer formula: (a ÷ n) ÷ 12
Displays the total number of canceled subscriptions. To analyze cancellations, see View cancellations reports.
Displays the percentage of canceled subscriptions. For more information, see View cancellation reports.
The following metrics determine cancellations rate:
- n: Total number of canceled subscriptions.
- a: Total number of subscriptions.
Cancellations rate formula: n ÷ a
Displays the total number of churned customers. A customer is churned when the revenue flow stops. For more information, see Churn.
Displays the percentage of churned customers. A customer is churned when the revenue flow stops. For more information, see Churn.
The following metrics determine churn rate:
- n: Total number of churned customers.
- a: Total number of active customers.
Churn rate formula: n ÷ a
Displays the total amount of revenue that a merchant can expect to generate from a customer during the customer's lifetime. To analyze subscription retention, see View retention reports.
The following metrics determine customer lifetime value:
- n: Annual average revenue per customer.
- a: Annual customer churn rate.
Customer lifetime value formula: n ÷ a
Displays the total number of downgraded subscriptions.
Displays the total amount of invoiced revenue. To analyze revenue, see View revenue waterfall reports and View monthly recurring revenue reports.
Displays the total amount of monthly recurring revenue. To analyze recurring revenue, see View monthly recurring revenue reports.
Displays the total number of newly activated subscriptions. To analyze newly activated subscriptions, see View cumulative reports.
Displays the total number of new trials. For information on how to create trials, see Create a pricing plan.
Displays the total number of reactivated subscriptions. To analyze successful subscription renewals, see View renewals reports.
Displays the percentage of successful subscription renewals. To analyze renewals, see View renewals reports.
The following metrics determine renewal success rate:
- n: Total of renewals with approved transactions.
- a: Total number of renewals.
Renewal success rate formula: n ÷ a
Displays the total number of subscriptions with approved transactions on the renewal invoice. To analyze subscription retention and upcoming subscription renewals, see View retention reports and View future renewals reports.
Displays the total number of approved transaction retries.
Displays the percentage of trials that are converted into subscriptions.
The following metrics determine trial conversion rate:
- n: Total number of approved transactions, on the first renewal, after the trial period.
- a: Total number of subscriptions., on the first renewal period, after the trial period.
Trial conversion rate formula: n ÷ a
Displays the total number of trials that are converted into subscriptions.
Displays the total number of upgraded subscriptions.
The following tile interactions are available:
Select a date range for the data that is displayed in tiles: In the top right of the screen, press the date picker, then select a date range. To make a quick date range selection, press on the right of the date picker, then make a selection.
View and interact with detailed data reports: Mouse-over or press a tile, then press Go to report.
Hide one or more tiles: Mouse-over or press a tile, then press Hide this tile.
Restore hidden tiles: In the top right of the screen, press Restore metrics.
Move or rearrange tiles: Mouse-over or press a tile, press Drag to reorder, then drag and drop the title to a new location.
View detailed tile data in data tables: Mouse-over or press a tile, then press Data tables.
Access reports from KPI tiles:
Some KPI tiles provide access to reports. These reports can also be accessed from Reports in the left navigation bar.
- In the left navigation bar, press KPIs , then press Billing.
- Mouse-over or press a tile, then press Go to report.
