# Billing reports

This topic describes how to view and use billing reports.

Use billing reports to view and interact with detailed billing data.

## View cumulative reports

Use this process to analyze data on active and new subscriptions.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Cumulative**.
3. In the dropdown, select **Daily** or **Monthly**.
4. In the top right of the page, press the date picker, then select a date range. 
To make a quick date range selection, on the right of the date picker, press **Actions** then make a selection.
5. Optionally, to filter the report:
  1. Above the graph, press **Filters**.
  2. In the **Filter** dropdown, select a filter.
  3. In the **Operation** dropdown, select a condition.
  4. In the **Value** field, enter or select values.
  5. Press **Apply filter**.


## View cancellations reports

Use this process to analyze data on canceled subscriptions.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Cancellations**.
3. In the dropdown, select an aggregation value.
4. In the top right of the page, press the date picker, then select a date range. 
To make a quick date range selection, on the right of the date picker, press **Actions** then make a selection.
5. Optionally, to filter the report:
  1. Above the graph, press **Filters**.
  2. In the **Filter** dropdown, select a filter.
  3. In the **Operation** dropdown, select a condition.
  4. In the **Value** field, enter or select values.
  5. Press **Apply filter**.


## View renewals reports

Use this process to analyze data on successful subscription renewals.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Renewals**.
3. In the top right of the page, press the date picker, then select a date range. 
To make a quick date range selection, on the right of the date picker, press **Actions** then make a selection.


## View retention reports

Use this process to analyze data on subscription retention.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Retention**.
3. Select from the following:
  1. Press **Value**.
  2. Optionally, to include refund and dispute data, select the **Include refunds** and **Include disputes** checkboxes.
  3. Optionally, to select how the data columns are organized, in the **Column dimension value** dropdown, select **Day**, **Month**, **Quarter**, or **Year**.
  4. In the dropdown, select an aggregation value.

  1. Press **Percentage**.
  2. Optionally, to include subscriptions that have switched between products or pricing plans, select the **Include switched subscriptions** checkbox.
  3. Optionally, to select how the data columns are organized, in the **Column dimension value** dropdown, select **Day**, **Month**, **Quarter**, or **Year**.
  4. In the dropdown, select an aggregation value.
4. Optionally, to filter the report:
  1. In the top right of the page, press **Filters**.
  2. In the **Filter** dropdown, select a filter.
  3. In the **Operation** dropdown, select a condition.
  4. In the **Value** field, enter or select values.
  5. Press **Apply filter**.


## View future renewals reports

Use this process to analyze data on upcoming subscription renewals.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Future renewals**.
3. In the top right of the page, press the date picker, then select a date range. 
To make a quick date range selection, on the right of the date picker, press **Actions** then make a selection.
4. Optionally, to filter the report:
  1. Above the graph, press **Filters**.
  2. In the **Filter** dropdown, select a filter.
  3. In the **Operation** dropdown, select a condition.
  4. In the **Value** field, enter or select values.
  5. Press **Apply filter**.


## View renewals sales reports

Use this process to analyze data on subscription renewal sales.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Renewal sales**.
3. In the top right of the page, press the date picker, then select a date range. 
To make a quick date range selection, on the right of the date picker, press **Actions** then make a selection.


## View deferred revenue reports

Deferred revenue reports describe revenue that has been billed but not yet recognized, and the remaining deferred revenue scheduled for future recognition as of a given month.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Deferred revenue**.
3. Optionally, to specify the date that revenue is recognized until: In the top left of the page, in the **As of the end of** date picker, specify the date that revenue is recognized until.
4. Optionally, to select the currency: In the top right of the page, in the **Currency** dropdown, select a currency.


## View monthly recurring revenue (MRR) reports

Use this process to view MRR reports over specific time periods.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **MRR (Monthly recurring revenue)**.
3. In the top left of the page, enter a date range.
4. In the top right of the page, in the **Currency** dropdown, select a currency.


## View ARR reports

Use this process to view Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) reports over specific time periods.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **ARR (Annual recurring revenue)**.
3. In the top left of the page, press the date picker, then select a date range.
4. In the top right of the page, in the **Currency** dropdown, select a currency.


## View revenue waterfall reports

Use this process to view revenue reports over specific time periods.

Revenue waterfall reports describe revenue that is recognized up to a given month.
They contain information on booked revenue, recognized revenue for the months in the issued period, and the remaining revenue up to the selected month.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Revenue waterfall**.
3. In the top left of the page, enter a date range.
4. In the **Recognized up to** date picker, specify the date that revenue is recognized until.
5. In the top right of the page, in the **Currency** dropdown, select a currency.


## View revenue journal reports

Use this process to view journal revenue reports over specific time periods.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Revenue journal**.
3. In the **Booked** date picker, select the start and end months when revenue was booked.
Revenue is booked when an invoice is issued.
The selected period starts from the beginning of the start month and ends at the end of the end month.
4. In the **Recognized at** date picker, select a month through which revenue is recognized.
5. In the **Currency** dropdown, select a revenue currency.
6. Optionally, to view revenue audit data by month and aggregation field, press a month in the first column.


### View revenue audit data

Use this process to view revenue audit data by month and aggregation field.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Revenue journal**.
3. Press a month in the first column.
4. In the **Aggregation field** dropdown, select an aggregation field.
5. In the **Month** column, press a month.


## View journal summary reports

Use this process to view revenue summary data across journal accounts over specific time periods.
For more information, see [Revenue recognition](/docs/data-tables/revenue-recognition#journal-summary).

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Journal summary**.
3. In the top left of the page, enter a date range.
4. In the **Aggregation field** dropdown, select an aggregation field to group the data by.
5. In the **Journal account** dropdown, select journal accounts to include in the report.
By default, all journal accounts are included.
6. In the **Currency** dropdown, select a currency.
7. Optionally, to view only journal accounts with activity: Clear the **Show accounts with zero activity** checkbox.
By default, all journal accounts are included in the report.
8. Optionally, to export the report in CSV format: In the top right of the page, press **Export**.


## View tax reports

Use this process to view tax reports over specific time periods.

1. In the left navigation bar, press **Reports**.
2. In the **Billing reports** section, press **Tax**.
3. In the top right of the page, enter a date range.
4. In the top left of the page, in the **Accounting method** dropdown, select **Accrual** or **Cash**.
